hi there!

It’s nice to meet you! You can call me Sevyn (like the number) or Dannah. I am a "full-package" creative with experience in Graphic Design, Web Design, Public Relations, Journalism and traditional arts. My goal with founding Lucky 7 Creative is to help small businesses reach their full potential through design, marketing, and assistance in navigating today’s digital landscape.

My educational journey with digital communications and design began in 2012; and I went on to obtain my Bachelor’s in Journalism with a focus in Public Relations and Graphic Design. I have over 12 years of experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite and boast start-up, agency, and in-house experience. Additionally, I have been actively freelancing since 2017 for a wide array of clients across several industries. Be sure to check out my portfolio to view some of my favorite things I’ve created.

I am an artist at heart, and enjoy the challenges that come with transferring physical art concepts to digital spaces and vice versa. Outside of work I love hanging out with my two dogs, watching movies with my husband, and creating my own greeting cards.

My Journey

There is something quite poetic about relief printing. With each blank carving slate you get the opportunity to create an entirely new reality by cutting or chipping the surface away. There are times when you may feel like life is just chipping away at you bit by bit, almost pruning in a way. But you may just be in the process of becoming a whole new, more beautiful, work of art.

My journey with linoleum block printing actually began when I was just a child in middle school art class. My art teacher (shoutout to you Mr. Nordstrom) decided to do an entire relief printing unit. He provided us with a linoleum block, some basic tools, and taught us the basics of creating an image from negative space. The challenge of thinking of your design in terms of negative/positive space was really exciting to me and I loved the bold art style of the result.

Flash forward to 2023, I was looking into different art mediums since getting back into creating art almost daily when I remembered how much fun I had with linoleum block printing. So, I ordered a Speedball starter kit on Amazon and started brainstorming design ideas. It took some time (and some mistakes) before I felt confident in my ability to create designs and carve them cleanly. Now, after almost 2 years of carving consistently and close to 150+ individual carvings created, I am ready and excited to share my gift with the world!

Handmade Goods

All items in the Lucky 7 Printworks shop are designed and hand-crafted by me! Due to the hand-crafted nature of the shop, items may not be 100% perfect. I always try my best to create clean and consistent results with my printing process, but sometimes there is human error. If you are ever unhappy with the quality of your purchase, please reach out to discuss reprinting

Apparel

All apparel items are printed on second-hand clothing that I source myself from thrift stores and consignment shops. This means that each apparel item is a one for one, limited in both size and in the actual garment the design is printed on. If there is a design that you are interested in, but can’t find the garment/size you are looking for, please reach out! I would be happy to try to source the garment and print it for you.

Sustainability

One of my goals for Lucky 7 Printworks is to be as environmentally friendly as possible and I limit mass production as much as I can. To achieve this, I limit the amount of non-recyclable material in my shipping materials by using mostly paper. If you are in an area that recycles paper products, I highly recommend recycling the packaging or reusing it for another purpose.

Shipping

Additionally, due to the small size of my business, please be mindful of shipping times. I always aim to have orders shipped out no later than a week (7 days) after the order date. For commissions and custom projects, production and shipping times may vary, but please allow for at least 2 weeks of production time and 2 weeks of shipping time. If you really need your order by a certain time, please just reach out and we can discuss faster shipping methods and see what we can do to make it happen!
